Assume I have a job with multiple business cards (each in their ProductPart) and stripping (to position these), how to define Assembly regarding AssemblyIDs?

The current MISPRE ICS was not clear for that.

There are two ways:

  1. Assembly/@Order=None and specify @AssemblyIDs (containing one AssemblyIDs for each card) in Assembly root
  2. Assembly/@Order=List and AssemblySection for each card (with the @AssemblyIDs of that card)

The current ICS only specified 2. (but did not cover planned ganging) but is seems 1. is more appropriate since there is no relation between the cards and 2. assumes a certain order.

Actually there are 4 methods: Stripping allows Assembly+. Since An Assembly defines the final product, you need one Assembly (or one Assembly partition by ProductPart JDF1.5+) for each BC. You cannot use one Assembly for all since e.g. a  ganged Cover needs information about the size of the body, in which case the order is Collecting and defines the Assembly of each brochure.

XJDF requires the parttitioning by ProductPart since multiple Assemblies are not allowed, therefore I'd suggest using partition by ProductPart with Order none.
